Organizing Data with Tags
Tags are Gravity’s tool for organizing activity data – and thus for organizing your carbon footprint. You can use tags to filter your data by project, by geography, by business unit, and more. Once you’ve tagged your data, you can easily create custom emissions dashboards for analysis and reporting.
Creating Tags
There are two ways to create a tag.
- Via the settings page.
- Go to the “Organization Settings” page using the gear in the bottom-left of the dashboard.
- While adding Tags to Activity Data.
Adding Tags to Activity Data
To add Tags to Activity Data, navigate to the Measure section. Then, navigate to an Activity Data table — either via the “All Emission Data” tab, or for a specific Site or Fleet.
Check the Activity Data rows you want to tag. Then, click the “Add tags” button in the menu bar to open a modal, where you’ll be prompted to select the tags you want to add. The tags you select will be added to all the records you have checked.
You’ll be able to create new tags while adding Tags to Activity Data rows.
Removing Tags from Activity Data
Similarly to adding Tags, navigate to an Activity Data table and check the rows you want to change. Then, click the “Remove tags” button to open a modal. The tags you select in the modal will be removed from all the records you have checked.
Deleting Tags
To delete a tag, navigate to the Organization Settings page using the Settings gear in the bottom left of the dashboard.
You will see a list of all your organization’s tags in the “Tags” section at the bottom of the page. To delete a tag, click the “…” on the right side of the tag’s row and click Delete. You’ll be prompted to confirm the deletion.
Deleting a tag will remove it from any Activity Data rows previously possessing the Tag, but otherwise leave those Activity Data rows unaffected.
Using Tags on Analyze
On the Analyze page, you can filter your dashboard to only count emissions for certain tags. Do so by clicking the “Tags” list on the left sidebar and adding the relevant tags. Analyze will then filter down to calculate emissions from only Activity Data possessing the specified tags.
