GHG Protocol Explanation
The GHG Protocol is the gold-standard methodology for measuring an organization’s carbon footprint. It prescribes how to classify emissions into Scopes, where to draw the boundaries around an organization’s structure, and offers guidance on data quality, emission factors, and more.
Gravity’s carbon accounting is fully compliant with the GHG Protocol.
The GHG Protocol emerged in the late 1990s with participation of some of the world’s leading companies and environmental nonprofits. The GHG Protocol is virtually universally recognized as the primary methodology for classifying and measuring greenhouse gas emissions, much as the GAAP sets the standards for financial accounting.
